Experience the Perfect Blend of Alpaca and Sheep Wool
This natural wool yarn is sold as is, directly from the shop where we purchased it in Ecuador. It isn’t rolled into a neat skein with needle sizes and weights printed on the sieve, but I found it easy to wind into balls by hand. It feels great to knit with, and the scarf I made with the white yarn is beautiful. I didn’t find any knots, but it requires a gentle hand as it is not plied. It held up well for me when knitting. United States size 10 needles worked well for me; larger ones would also work. We bought only naturally dyed colors. Each skein weighs an average of 9.5 ounces.

This combination harnesses the luxurious qualities of alpaca fibers—known for their exceptional softness and insulation properties—with the strength and versatility of sheep’s wool. The alpaca provides natural warmth, making it ideal for cold-weather projects, while the sheep’s wool contributes resilience and structure to hold your designs in place.
